What if blood comes out with my semen during ejaculation?

Question:

Hello. My name is Colin. I am 25, circumcised. A couple of days ago I had sex with my wife and I saw blood coming out of my penis with semen. I’ve never experienced it before. We have been married for 6 years and we never use condoms – I just pull penis out of vagina as soon as I feel I’m about to ejaculate.

I think that’s quite embarrassing to discuss it with doctor in person that’s why I’m here. Please help.

Hello, Colin. The condition of having blood in semen is called hematospermia. Blood may come from a number of sources – prostate, testis, urethra and others. It can be caused by infection, trauma, certain STD or inflammation. The inflammation is most common cause of hematospermia.

Anyway I think you should consult your doctor for further evaluation and determination.
