I have ED and when I ejaculate I feel sharp pain in forehead.
Question:
Hello, I’m Alex. I am 55 y. o.
I suffer from Erectile Dysfunction (male impotence). But when I’m able to get an erection and ejaculate – I feel sharp and lasting pain in my forehead. What causes this and what should I do?
Doctor’s answer:
Hello, Alex.
Your condition is known as Coital or Ejaculation Cephalgia. Headaches can be early or late and can occur during intercourse or only when you ejaculate.
Early coital cephalgia is usually mild or moderate and lasts for a few minutes, while ejaculation or orgasmic cephalgia is sudden and severe and lasts for at least 15 minutes, usually 20-25.
And late coital cephalgia occurs after ejaculation cephalgia and lasts for hours or even days.
There are a few underlying factors to your problem. They are either physical – preexisting migraine or high blood pressure, or of psychological nature. You should consult your physician for further evaluation and investigation.
Ejaculation cephalgia is usually treated with propranolol hydrochloride or indomethacin and their successful rate is very high – these drugs can alleviate the hypertension and reduce the chance of headaches.
It’s up to your doctor which drug to prescribe.
