I have an erection but can’t ejaculate during intercourse.
Question:
Hello. My name is John. I am 50. I can’t ejaculate during sexual intercourse. I can achieve an erection and it’s strong – no problem with that. I just can’t ejaculate.
I’m taking depakote for treating bipolar disorder. Can depakote make me unable to ejaculate?
I also have high blood pressure but I don’t take any medicines for that.
Doctor’s answer:
Hi, John.
Looks like depakote can’t make you unable to ejaculate. The reported side effects of this drug are:
- abnormal thinking
- problems with breathing
- bronchitis
- head-ache
- bruising
- abdominal pain
- constipation
- stress or depression
- diarrhea
- emotional changeability
- fever or flu symptoms
- hair loss
- dizziness
- indigestion
As you see there is no failed ejaculation among reported side effects.
I recommend you to consult your physician for further evaluation, your problem can be due to prostatitis, prostatic hypertrophy, strictures or anything else.
